- I step danced for my kids today. One student went nuts when he found out I had a connection to Scotland (most haven’t heard of it) because he wants to learn how to play the bagpipes (he didn’t know what they were called but his charade skills were effective haha). I showed them a video of Rankin playing with some fiddlers and gave a few steps. It was cute!
- Some of my students today gave me a gift bag full of suckers. They’re so cute!
- Every morning when I arrive at school the track team is practicing I want to take part but it seems a little taboo. This morning, they were all opening boxes of new cleats. The school supplied new cleats to the whole team! I thought that was pretty neat!
- It’s INSANE how much people can load onto bicycles and mopeds. Like, mind-boggling. Here is one picture I happened to snap (I wish I had a camera built into my head so I never missed anything):
- It’s also cute to see how many people can fit on one bike. It’s not uncommon to see a family of 4 crammed onto a bike.
- My students LOVE to pry in my back. It’s like a tickle trunk for them. I can never ever leave it unattended. It’s adorable and annoying at the same time haha
- Students are ALWAYS sweeping the concrete pads around the school – before school, after school, between classes, lunch time…. It SEEMS to be the same students so I don’t know if it’s a punishment, an assigned duty or what. I’ll have to ask. After/before each class, an assigned student also cleans off the boards for the teachers and another has control over the computer (setting the computer and overhead up, entering the password, etc.).
Maybe these few little notes will tie you over until next time! Here's hoping!
